Metaphor Analysis in Malaysia Song Lyrics Izinkan Selamanya Namamu di Hati by EYE

This study analyses the use of metaphors in the lyrics of the song ‘Izinkan Selamanya namamu di hati’ by EYE, focusing on pragmatic aspects involving meaning and communication context. Metaphors serve as a means of expression that enriches the emotions and experiences in the lyrics, describing the tumultuous journey of love. Through text analysis, we identified several key metaphors, such as ‘tertusuk sembilu’ which reflects pain and ‘jalan berduri’ which symbolises challenges in relationships. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The data source in this study is the lyrics of the song ‘Izinkan selamanya namamu di hati’ by EYE, The research shows that metaphor in the song is not just a decoration of language, but also an important medium to convey deeper messages about life and human relationships. There are a total of 20 phrases containing metaphors, each reflecting the themes of acceptance, regret, struggle, hope, and the search for happiness in life. Through this analysis, it can be seen that the lyrics not only convey emotions, but also invite listeners to reflect on their own life journey
